National Chiao Tung University or NCTU is a national university of Taiwan located in the center of its “silicon valley” – the Hsinchu city. It is one of the oldest universities in Taiwan. I was established in the year 1896 in Shanghai in mainland China, but by the efforts of its alumni was reestablished in the year 1957 in Taiwan, Republic of China. The reestablished institute was an institute of electronics aimed at development of electronics industry in Taiwan. With the efforts of National Chiao Tung University and similar institutes it is no wonder Taiwan has established itself as a leader in this industry. The University has two campuses in Hsinchu – Kuang-Fu and Bo Ai. Kuang-Fu, located on the outskirts of the city, is the larger campus and is the center of engineering and applied sciences and homes the school of management.
